MOVIE DESCRIPTION:
COLORADO SUNDOWN: A Texas rancher who is trying to help a friend with a ranch he inherited, becomes involved in a murder. THE BIG SHOW: The Big Show was filmed on a modest budget but Republic gave it a much more elaborate look for the money. In this western Gene Autry plays dual roles. When cowboy star Tom Ford (played by Autry) disappears, his screen double (played by who else but Gene Autry) impersonates him for the movie studio. COME ON RANGERS: The Cavalry calls a band of Texas Rangers back into service to combat outlaws. WILD COUNTRY: U. S. marshal Eddie Dean takes out after the dirty low-down I. Stanford Jolley, who's wanted for the murder of a sheriff and now has his gun-sights set on the dead man's daughter.

REVIEWS:
- In its own low budget way, Colorado Sundown has it all: pleasant songs sung by star Rex Allen, one of the best in the genre; an above-average "good cop, bad cop" team of villains in June Vincent and former stuntman Fred Graham; arguably the best natural B-Western sidekick of all times in the delightful Slim Pickens; great additional humor provided by African-American actress Louise Beavers, as heroine Mary Ellen Kay's companion; and the accustomed fight scenes, runaway stages and assorted other mayhem typical of the producer, Republic Pictures, even at this late stage in the game. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, Rovi
- That old wheeze of a line, "This town isn't big enough for the both of us," turns up once again in this pleasant if easily forgettable PRC oater. The warning comes from town czar Douglas Fowley to polka dot bandit I. Stanford Jolley and they are easily the best actors in the film. Eddie Dean sings pleasantly and Roscoe Ates performs his usual schtick, but where on earth did PRC dig up leading lady Peggy Wynne? Not only does Wynne lack that extra something in the looks department, she is also a terrible actress. Learning that her father has been framed for a stage robbery and then shot down in cold blood, Peggy responds by looking slightly perplexed and quickly changing the subject. Oh well, PRC paid the lowest wages in the industry. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, Rovi
