MOVIE DESCRIPTION:

After having a romantic dinner, passionate sex and then giving him the computer program she's been working on, the insensitive boyfriend of gorgeous Mara (Debra Beatty) jilts her anyway. Later, she's killed in an accident but awakens in a netherworld that is neither heaven nor hell -- in fact, it's some sort of limbo that links the spiritual world, reality, and cyberspace. Mara discovers that she has four chances to learn an important lesson before her soul can move on to the next level of enlightenment. Like a comely computer virus with an appetite for sexual pleasure, Mara invades the virtual reality programs of four people who need inspiration from a randy muse in red latex. ~ Buzz McClain, Rovi

REVIEW:
  • If you complain about the lack of coherent plotting in your softcore, you'll have less to complain about with Cyberella: Forbidden Passions. You'll still gripe, but just not as much. Debra Beatty actually does a pretty good job staying in character as her Mara seduces a variety of mentally blocked folks -- men and women, hers being an equal opportunity computer program -- and the rest of the cast lives up to her standard. There's even some dialogue that doesn't come from a can. Not great, but those who expect a bit more from the genre may want to take a chance on it. The box art is intended to recall Barbarella -- one can't be entirely sure that's not Jane Fonda on the cover, but it's certainly not Beatty -- and as it happens, Cyberella is about as coherent as Barbarella, which made little sense either. ~ Buzz McClain, Rovi
