As hosted by public television stalwart Rudy Maxa, this set from the Best of Europe travel-themed documentary series journeys to Italy, for a four-episode collection of films highlighting unique and spectacular Italian cities. Program One ventures to Rome, the legendary and mythical Italian capital, for a tour of ancient and contemporary wonders; highlights include a trip to Vatican City, walks through Roman Streets, and stops at shops and cafes. Program Two ventures to Venice, where Maxa teaches the viewer to avoid the tourist mob with stops at neighborhoods including San Polo, Dorsoduro, and Cannaregio. Program Three offers a tour of Florence, with side trips to museums including the Accademia and the Uffizi, and various Renaissance landmarks such as Giotto's Tower. Finally, Program Four concludes the tour with a jaunt out to Naples and the Amalfi Coast; stops here include the Isle of Capri, Mt.
