The Bare Box [4 Discs]

MOVIE DESCRIPTION:

Four feature films from the queen of 1960s sexploitation, director Doris Wishman (and one from another cult hero, Edgar G. Ulmer), come together for this special box-set collection from Something Weird Video. The four-disc Bare Box includes DVD editions of the films Blaze Starr Goes Nudist, Deadly Weapons, and Double Agent 73, as well as a double-feature disc pairing up Diary of a Nudist and The Naked Venus. All five films have been transferred to disc in the full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Mono. The movies are all in English, with no multiple language options included. The Blaze Starr Goes Nudist DVD also includes the film's original trailer, additional striptease footage of the famous Ms. Starr, and a gallery of promotional artwork for Doris Wishman's films. Deadly Weapons gains a vintage short subject on bust enhancement, another promotional art gallery, and trailers for Deadly Weapons and Double Agent 73 as bonus materials. The same two trailers are included on the Double Agent 73 disc, which also features a short subject (shot by Russ Meyer) in which Tempest Storm has a plaster cast made of her breasts, and more exploitation artwork. And, finally, the double disc containing Diary of a Nudist and The Naked Venus is enhanced with additional footage and an alternate title sequence for The Naked Venus, trailers for six vintage nudie-cutie pictures, four additional short subjects, and advertising artwork for a number of nudist-camp movies, accompanied by rare radio spots. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
